Welcome to My World

Hi Everbody,
I'm so happy I don't have to keep my thoughts in my head alone anymore. We can share our thoughts together. When I meet people on the street who recognize me from the Oprah Show, they always tell me how much I have done for their lives. What you don't know is how much you have all done for my life. This will be a two way conversation, because I need you too.

Let's have fun!
Stacey

I saw you today on Oprah. Everytime I see you I get a needed boost. I have taken off 112 pounds sence August 30,2006. And that is a good start but as you know when we weigh as much as we both did that is just a drop in the bucket. I have started to put back some of the weight. I did have 125 off. I needed a boost and a kick in the pants to get my head back in the right place to continue my weight loss journey. I have never bloged before but this is worth trying.

Stacey: I just ordered your book. I, too, had GBS 2-1/2 years ago at age 59 and lost 80 lbs which is a good place for me to be at this age, but am now battling to keep it off. Hope your book can give me inspiration. If you were on t.v. every day, it would help...lol.... Lynne in Niagara Falls, N.Y.

Hi Stacey,

I am enjoying your new book! Your testimony is amazing. God is so good, loving, and merciful to us to give us second, third, fourth, etc. chances to take care of our bods. I am in the same spot. 225 is now 216. I dont want to throw the baby out with the bathwater. I have to say as a Christian there was one area God delivered me from and that was sex before marriage. There was the sin of fornification, with my now husband, which I was forgiven for. I believe that the part about sexuality and our weight is a big deal to talk about. I loved the story of the burn woman and the man who accepted her and loved her for who she was. Alot of times in sex before marriage that is not the case. I pray that if you are not presently married by the time you read this, that God will find the perfect man for you and that you will have a renewed purity in your spirit and emotions like you do your new physical body. It will be part of the completion in what God wants for your life. Jeremiah 29:11. Haggai 2:19 is cool too. The Lord is our Husband until we find one. So while the seeds are still in the barn, from this day on may He richly bless you!
Sincerely,
Angelyn "Angel" Lollar

Hi Skwid
First let me say that I am sorry I took so long to answer you but I have had medical set backs which I will be sharing later with everyone. The next thing I want to say to you is Happy Anniversary today is August 30th and it is one year ago today you began your wonderful journey to turn around your life. Wow 112 pounds in a year! Since when has 112 pounds ever been something not to be proud of, or as you say “a drop in the bucket”! What a bucket! Okay now, after a year you are having a rough time and have put back a little weight back on; we all go through the same periods. The thing my friend is not to allow you, to punish yourself for being human. I mean, hello food is out there and guess what, it taste good! We are programmed to like to eat. The first step to getting “your head back” in the right place is to acknowledge what you have done for yourself. Write down the best things that you have done for you in the past year and also how your new mobility over the year has made you feel. Another thing is to remember the whole process is your journey including the set backs. We all learn from all our experiences. We did not become 500 pounds over night and our journey will not happen overnight either. Therefore my friend Skwid make your next choice a healthy one, do something nice for you ….you deserve it! I know you can do it. Keep in touch with me.

Dear Lynne
You are an inspiration to many a people out there, meaning that “you are always worth the effort and time” no matter at what point you are in life! I am so proud to hear of your accomplishment, 80 pounds is no small bag of potatoes. I must be honest with you, I am also glad to hear you bought my book. Yes, I hope it will be an inspiration to you; of course not just the purchase of the book but the reading of it might help too! Seriously, the inspiration comes from within all of us and the thing is we have to recognize that it is there already. Losing 80 pounds takes a lot of motivation, inspiration and energy. People think we get the surgery and puff the magic happens. They don’t know! We are not getting surgery in our minds and that is where the battle takes place. Lynne remember your victories, acknowledge your achievements and never forget those 80 pounds. You are a winner and a winner never gives up!! Keep in touch.

Dear Angelyn “Angel”
You sound just like an Angel but I believe we are all Angels, all with different purposes and special missions. First I want to say I am so happy that you have found the “perfect man”, I think sharing your life with that someone special is so very important. I want to also thank you for sharing with me that scripture. Haggai 2:19 “The Lord is our Husband until we find one”… not such a bad guy to have as a husband until the right one comes along. As far as the weight goes I wouldn’t worry too much about it. You sound like a very spiritual person, one I must say with a sense of humor (love the baby and bathwater expression) you will be fine. Take it easy on yourself, be your own best friend. That’s what I do and sometimes it is not easy but I know it is what works. Good luck, bless you and keep in touch …
